Making Money online - tips and strategies

Search Engine Optimization & Pay Per Click

Once you build a website there are two main Internet Marketing methods to bring traffic to your site, one is SEO (Search Engine Optimization), the other is PPC (Pay per Click). Both are effective in different ways.

Advantages to using SEO:

Using a method like SEO is an organic way to create the flow of business to your site. Rather than PPC, which are paid advertisements that show up, the SEO results actually pair up with what the user typed in the search bar to match your site. As a user, it is more likely that they will trust what the search results tell them, since it’s a natural result.

Since these results are natural, they offer you a more targeted audience. Rather than a lot of people looking at your site when it may not be what they are looking for, they will be looking at your site because it is exactly what they needed. This will lead to a more concentrated and long term audience.

Remember while you are creating your site that keywords in your site are important to the SEO results. Since the user will be typing in different keywords, it is important that these words pair up with exactly what your site has to offer. Using keywords on your site that are relevant to what people may type in to search under is a very important aspect to SEO.

Once you have spent the time to fine tune your site, you’ll find that SEO will deliver a massive long term return on investments, rather than the PPC method. The PPC method’s results will stop as soon as the campaign ends, while the SEO listings rank will be stable over time.

Disadvantages to SEO:

The downside to this method is that it is extremely time consuming task that can take months to properly achieve. PPC on the other hand produces much faster results. When looking into a short term situation, PPC may be more effective than SEO.

Also, there are always situations like seasonal variations, as well as search engines that will fluctuate. This causes SEO results that can be unpredictable, so it’s important not to concentrate too much on these results. Remember that SEO is a project that needs to be maintained and worked on quite a bit in the beginning so that the results will be steady over time.

Conclusion:

Since there is no method that will be 100% what you are looking for, the best advice we can give is to try both methods at once. You will then have the long term benefits to SEO, as well as the fast results of PPC. Also, don’t forget to use other marketing channels as well. Just because you are using these two methods doesn’t mean you should exclude everything else that can be offered. Remember, in the end the ultimate goal is to optimize every part of your business so that you can have a long term success.
